Tips For Eating Healthy On A Budget

Eating healthy is something I always strive to do but it can get expensive when purchasing organic products.   Eating healthy is not only good for your digestive system but can also help you with Weight Loss San Diego.  Here are a few tips I have which will help you to save money and time.  Remember to get creative and if possible try to shop at farmers markets for the freshest food and what is in season.  It is really easy to get carried away when shopping at the farmers market.  I would find myself so excited and overwhelmed by all the lovely, delicious fruits and vegetables, my budget would go right out the window.  I found taking cash in my budget amount was very helpful.  I was more mindful about where I spent my money and was less tempted to go over my budget.  Once the cash is gone it is time to go home. 

Another great tip to save money is to have some “kitchen staples” on hand.  Here are a few items I always try to keep on stock.  It is helpful when I come home hungry and can throw something together really quickly.  Here is what you will usually find in my pantry; fresh ground pepper and salt, extra virgin olive oil, canned beans, quinoa, rice, pasta, chicken stock, canned tomatoes and a few different vinegars. 

Remember eating healthy and Lose Weight San Diego doesn’t have to cost a lot of money; you just have to be creative and set boundaries on your budget.  I find shopping every few days for what I need rather than spending a lot of money and over stocking works better and you waste less food.  Getting fruits and vegetables at the farmers markets also allows you to support local farms as well as get what is ripe and in season.
