There are two leading sources of drop shipped products online – Ali Express (usually used with Oberlo, a Shopify app) and Doba (read some Doba reviews here for more information), but which is the best solution for a new Shopify store? In this post, I'm going to talk about each – including the good and bad points.
Doba is a dropshipping service based in the USA and has been around for a long time. Membership prices range from $29 a month to $249 and upwards, and for that fee, you get access to a fully set up and integrated distribution funnel managed by Doba.
They stock over 2 million products and ship them out to customers anywhere in the United States. Their prices are good, but bear in mind they are drop-ship prices – not 'bulk wholesale' prices, and they are a US company – not a low-cost Chinese manufacturer.
AliExpress.com is the leading marketplace for Chinese wholesalers and manufacturers to do business around the world. They list millions of products that are dispatched (on a drop ship or wholesale basis) around the world at very low prices, but delivery can be slow.
Although most of the suppliers are reliable, they are often not as highly rated as Doba is for customer service and quality, but there's significantly more choice and lower prices. Membership to Ali Express is free.
In summary, they are both good – but Doba is more expensive and reliable while Ali Express is much cheaper but delivery can be very slow.
